What are Sucata Rallies?

Sucata Rallies are bargain basement banger rally tours where teams drive to some of Europes most incredible destinations, over 4 days, in bangers costing no more than £350. And in fancy dress!

The rally raises money for international education charity Gemin-i – helping to support their HIV360 project. Gemin-i is an educational charity helping children around the world share ideas and work together for a brighter future.

 

There are 3 amazing routes:

 

Sucata Split (to Croatia) 31st May - 4th June 2012

Sucata Budapest 26th - 30th July 2012

Sucata Run (to Portugal) 23rd - 27th August 2012

What are the routes like?

 

Sucata Split

 

The tour heads East from Bruges, in Belgium, to the stunning Split in Croatia. En route it stops in Strasbourg (the first city in the world to be declared a UNESCO World Heritage site) Munich (the Bavarian capital of Germany with it's Lederhosen and the world's most famous Beer Hall, the Hofbräuhaus) and the beautiful Ljubljana (capital of Europe's most underrated country Slovenia).

Day 1. May 31st: Bruges to Strasbourg
Day 2. June 1st: Strasbourg to Munich
Day 3. June 2nd: Munich to Ljubljana
Day 4. June 4th: Ljubljana to Split
Day 5. June 4th: Explore the ancient city, or head for the beach…

Sucata Budapest

 

The adventure begins in Reims, northern France, (the capital of the Champagne region! Hiccup…) and travels to enchanting Budapest, the undisputed 'Pearl of the Danube' where East meets West and Sucateers meet the finish line! En route we stop at Freiburg - a lively city in the depths of the Black Forest, Lake Como (nestled in the lush mountains of Lombardy) and Salzburg, a beautiful baroque city perched on the edge of the Alps.

Day 1. Thurs 26th July: Reims to Freiburg
Day 2. Fri 27th July: Freiburg to Lake Como
Day 3. Sat 28th July: Lake Como to Salzburg
Day 4. Sun 29th July: Salzburg to Budapest
Day5. Mon 30th July: Kick back at one of Budapest's spa baths...

Sucata Run

 

The tour runs from Rouen, the stunning capital of Normandy, to Cabo de Roca, Europe's most westerly in point in Portugal. On the way it passes through La Rochelle, the most attractive and unspoilt seaside town of France, San Sebastian, the Spanish summer capital, and the beautiful Salamanca, Spain's original party city.

Day 1. Thurs 23rd Aug: Rouen to La Rochelle.
Day 2. Fri 24th Aug: La Rochelle to San Sebastian
Day 3. Sat 25th Aug: San Sebastian to Salamanca
Day 4. Sun 26th Aug: Salamanca to Cabo da Roca
Day 5. Mon 27th Aug: Time to relax on the beach - or nurse your hangover

Each team is set a target of raising £250 per person for the charity behind the event, Gemin-i. Gemin-i is a UK-based charity specialising in developing innovative solutions to improve education in the developing and developed worlds.
